Membership:

The orchestra's membership includes music majors and non-music majors. Wind and percussion-section personnel are assigned from the University Wind Ensemble.

All string players on campus are welcomed and invited to audition, including non-music majors, faculty, and staff. Please prepare two brief selections of contrasting styles (fast and slow). These selections can be all or part of a larger work, e.g., an etude, concerto movement, a sonata movement, or any excerpt from a lesson book. Auditions are held during the first week of Fall classes. Sign-up sheets will be posted during the weekend preceding the first day of classes on the ensemble board in the music building (across from Room 113)."

String auditions will tentatively be held on August 28, 29, and 30

Weekly Rehearsals:

Monday - 7 to 9:30pm in von der Mehden
Wednesday - 7 to 9:30pm in von der Mehden
